BIOGRAPHY

Patrick Hamilton is a multi-faceted artist who effortlessly moves between the roles of composer, producer and performer.

 

Signed to Sony Music Masterworks, Hamilton successfully combines his work as a composer in the contemporary space with his work in film and TV score composition.

Artistically diverse, Patrick Hamilton is rooted in the core classical tradition. Hailing from Bruges in Belgium, he was classically trained at the Conservatoire in Bruges & the Royal Conservatoire in Ghent before embarking on a hugely successful and varied musical career, spanning many genres.

He first worked as a sought-after session player before becoming an in-demand producer-engineer. whilst continuing to pursue his deep interest in contemporary classical music.

Hamilton soon became the producer of choice for a range of internationally renowned artists, including Alfie Boe OBE, Richard Clayderman, David Garrett, Katherine Jenkins OBE and Sir Bryn Terfel CBE, to name a few. His production, writing and arranging work for best-selling classical artist, Katherine Jenkins, has seen Patrick oversee a number of Katherine's albums, all of which reached number 1 on the UK Official Classical Artist Album Chart, including her 12th studio album 'Cinema Paradiso' (2022)

In addition to his successful career in  composition and production, Patrick Hamilton also runs his own studios 'The Globe Recording Studios', founded in 2002 as well as operating BROMO Music Publishing, the publishing department of The Globe music company. Since 2017 he is signed to Decca Publishing in the UK where he was one of the first signings along with Max Richter.

In 2020 Patrick Hamilton was named ambassador of the Lang Lang International Music Foundation, a select group of professionals that have demonstrated their commitment to music education for today’s youth. In 2025, Patrick Hamilton was commissioned by the City of Bruges to compose a concerto for the inauguration of BRUSK, the city’s new and prestigious museum of contemporary art. Conceived as a dialogue between sound, space, and architecture, the work premiered during the museum’s opening weekend and was performed for an audience of over 21,000 people, marking a significant cultural moment and underscoring Hamilton’s growing presence in the international contemporary music landscape.

The haunting beauty of Patrick Hamilton's compositions, where each note whispers like a breeze through the forest, can be heard in his collection of solo felted piano recordings.

His album 'Elements of nature' released by Sony Masterworks on 31st January 2025 was followed by his debut sold out concert in London at The Royal Albert Hall on 10th February.
